Abstract

Santa Catarina é um Estado onde os eventos climáticos são diversificados e causam desastres de variados níveis. O Vale do Itajaí sofre em consequência desses desastres. O presente artigo tem como objetivo investigar a situação dos órgãos de Proteção e Defesa Civil (PDC) do Médio Vale do Itajaí em relação a Política Nacional de Proteção e Defesa Civil (PNPDC), instituída pela Lei Federal nº 12.608, de 10 de abril de 2012. Os objetivos específicos buscam averiguar se as legislações municipais estão em consonância com a PNPDC e analisar se os municípios cumprem com as competências estabelecidas pelo art. 8º da Lei 12.608. Foi aplicado um questionário com 26 questões, em dezembro de 2020 aos gestores de PDC, dividido em seis eixos. Concluiu-se que os 14 municípios dispõem de algum tipo de estrutura em PDC e que a maioria não cumprem integralmente as competências atribuídas em lei.
