Abstract

Este documento analisa os sistemas de controle de fumaça como alternativa para mitigar os números da principal causa de vítimas nos incêndios em edificações, a inalação da fumaça. Para isso, foi efetuada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, de modo a compreender como ocorre a produção, propagação, características e o comportamento da fumaça. Com base nisso, os sistemas de controle de fumaça foram objeto de estudo, abordando os sistemas naturais e mecânicos, detalhes de funcionamento e aspectos dos dispositivos que os compõem. Os princípios mais relevantes para a criação de uma Instrução Normativa sobre o tema, por parte do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Santa Catarina, resumem-se em 7 (sete) pontos. Na conclusão corrobora-se a ideia da pesquisa, apontando o sistema de controle de fumaça como uma ferramenta com potencial para auxiliar na prevenção de sinistros, evacuação das vítimas, proteção de vidas e do patrimônio. O que subsidia, por meio dos princípios identificados, diretrizes para orientar a Corporação na elaboração de uma normatização voltada ao assunto.
