O emprego de cães para auxílio na detecção de acelerantes de incêndio

Abstract

Este artigo visa apresentar a possibilidade de utilização de cães para detecção de acelerantes em incêndio. O local incendiado é complexo e traz desafios para o perito de incêndio compreendê-lo corretamente. Utilizando-se da notável capacidade olfativa dos cães, estes podem ser treinados para desenvolver a habilidade de encontrar e sinalizar, em uma cena de incêndio, os locais onde se encontram líquidos acelerantes, caso existam. Dessa forma, as amostras a serem recolhidas poderão seguir a indicação do cão, reduzindo os pontos de coleta e encaminhando-as para exames laboratoriais, ampliando-se as chances de ter um resultado positivo para acelerantes com menores custos, rapidez e precisão.
