O presente artigo aborda o tema da liderança e representa uma síntese das observações e experiências acumuladas pelo autor como comandante e professor da disciplina de liderança militar no Centro de Ensino do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Santa Catarina. O principal objetivo do artigo é o de compartilhar uma experiência de ensino aprendizagem com foco no desenvolvimento da atividade da liderança no ambiente militar. Trata-se de um relato de caso e segue a metodologia de desenvolvimento de liderança adotado pelo Center for Creative Leadership, Instituição líder mundial no desenvolvimento e pesquisa sobre liderança. Em linguagem simples e objetiva, sugere maneiras de melhorar o ensino da liderança, expõe ideias próprias, conceitos teóricos, reflexões e tendências sobre o desenvolvimento horizontal e vertical da liderança, buscando fomentar sua relevância na formação dos novos militares, e estimular seu interesse e estudo no ambiente da caserna.
